Marmite is home

Yep Marmite is back home. The new towing eye worked nicely, although the tow trucks hook was a little big for the cars eye, cant win them all. The new wider garage doors made it quite easy to get in. A nice win.
Over the last week I had been trying to get the bell housing freed up and cleaned up, I ended up taking it to a friends where we heated up the clevis pins to remove them and then the clutch plunger the same way.

The rock solid plunger was why the engine was inspected, which we know didnt go to well. So it was nice to free that up ..... for another friend noticed the odd casting mark inside I had stared at a lot, but he saw a crack on the outside in the same place!! Yep scrap, so I dug out the spare ;) and had to heat the pins on that one to strip it. I won in the end.

Just have to wait till I do the next spending spree for roof lining and engine parts. Can't wait but also a bit of nervous anticipation  holding me back is going on.
Time for another big push, but hoping the rest of the family see the progress on this round..... as long as the daily motor holds out, poor thing is in need of some tlc and may need some of my time/money !

Moving ready

Another stint done in the work shop today, and it was nice to have a few little straight forward jobs.
I know I shouldn't tempt fate as it seems to like bighting me in the arse. But I did succeed in touching up the floor pan (post sub frame mount swop/levering), connectes a new flexing fuel pipe into the boot, fit a bolt through drivers shocker (there didn't seem to be one, ever!) And torqued up the tower bolts to the front sub frame .... after a long hunt for a socket and just as long to find an adapter to get the torque wrench to fit said socket.
So for now I have run out of "oh can I just do this little job as well while it is on the ramps", it seems to have taken ages, well about 2 months I suppose but that has been over just one evening and may be a saturday each week. I do think I have been able to get a much better job done though, with it being on the ramps and near different tools than I have.
Had to move the carpet set and boot lid to the loft as they can't be fitted till a few other jobs happen first. But the garage is getting tidier ready for Marmites return.
Suppose I should get on and buy a roof liner soon. I want that and the glass in so the car cover doesn't get brocken again when it goes out on the drive for a while to do the engine in the garage.
Will try to catch up with some pictures and add them in to the last few posts.
